Ask the Expert: Lead Engineer

At Atelier, we believe that it’s paramount that we get to know our clients personally to discover who they are and what they want from their garden studio. Each one of our products are specifically tailored to people and their unique specifications by our team of expert engineers, but who are they? It’s time you met our Lead Engineer, Andrew Evans.

Andrew has been with Atelier since our very first day and plays a huge role in the creation of garden studios. Since Andrew is tasked with getting to know you and providing the best combination of materials and specifications to best suit your needs, here’s a chance for you to learn more about the man behind our designs.

How did you become a designer?

I have always had a keen interest in property and I think this led to my enjoyment of being involved in the transformation of buildings and spaces into truly spectacular structures.

How did you start working for Atelier?

After I had spent a number of years in the industry, Atelier became a figurehead to aspire to and aim to work for. I was fortunate enough to be looking for a change when they were searching for a new designer and the rest is history really.

What did you do prior to Atelier?

I have spent the majority of my working life in the home improvement and construction industries in customer facing roles.

Which is your preferred garden studio and why?

Although it is the most simple, my favourite is the Vista. I think when you have a clear and straightforward floorplan it is easier to plan how to fill it.

What would you use your garden studio for?

I would use my garden studio as a home office, I feel that the structures lend themselves brilliantly to this as they provide such a light and airy space.

Why are you so proud to work for Atelier?

Because, we use only the best materials available. Our structures are designed to be something truly special and it would be senseless to cheapen the product with poor quality materials.

The aluminium we use is an example of this. It is thermally broken to prevent the heat loss that many other studios suffer from. This kind of attention to detail and dedication to quality is what makes me proud to be a part of Atelier.
